Dandelion Forest

Special dedicate to Waldo Oiseau from Kansas City DP.
My garden is fully covered by dandelion and I did'nt have the heart to mow them.

Basilique Saint Sernin at night

I like this Basilica especially at night.
This picture was unforeseen so didn't have my pod.
I put my camera on a car.

Vieille mesure à grain - Old grain measurement

This tool was used to measure cereal.
The capacity which is written on is a double decaliter - 20 liter.
Cereal is poured on top with the lower little door closed. When the capacity is reached, the door is open and cereal can come down and fill a bag.

Borne - Pale

Along the Canal du Midi, there are this kind of pale (correct me if I'am wrong ?).
I didn't succeed to find any information of their purpose (I googled a lot of "borne canal du midi" without success).

Dandelion Clock - Aigrettes du Pissenlit

My garden is full of dandelion - too hot and don't want to use too much water.
I can't stand up to shot a close-up of these delicate filaments.

Common reed - Roseau Commun

The "Canal du Midi" and my weekly ride is always a great source of pictures.
I'm not sure that is really a common reed. Is there a botanist here to help me ?

Sunflower again !!

Now sunflowers are mature.
There is nothing to do but than they become shrivelled up.
This will be the next step.

Empty lake

This picture was shot at the beginning of this year. But the weather is the same now.
This lake "Saint Ferréol" is in fact a reservoir for the "Canal du Midi".

Typical french breakfast

Even if I have mess up the DP theme of August, I decide finally to post a Breakfast picture.
As you can see, it is really typical for France. It was early in the morning, we had drop off our daughter at the railway station. We had time to enjoy Toulouse in the morning. We stopped at Le Florida on the Place du Capitole and we order this delicious breakfast. This was a good starting point for the all day.

Parting of the waters

I'm just back from holidays.
It's good to return home and to see the "Canal du Midi" again.
This is the "Seuil de Naurouze" where the waters separate to Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean Sea.
I'll explain later the Parting of the waters.
