I forgot to register to the September Theme Day, but I decided to post a picture related to September theme.
This statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary is enclosed in a alcove on the wall of a house which was formerly a convent.
It can be considered as a Street Signs - Street Lights as She guides and illuminates the passerby.

Dandelion Forest

Special dedicate to Waldo Oiseau from Kansas City DP.
My garden is fully covered by dandelion and I did'nt have the heart to mow them.

I like this Basilica especially at night.
This picture was unforeseen so didn't have my pod.

Vieille mesure à grain - Old grain measurement

This tool was used to measure cereal.
The capacity which is written on is a double decaliter - 20 liter.
Cereal is poured on top with the lower little door closed. When the capacity is reached, the door is open and cereal can come down and fill a bag.

Borne - Pale

Along the Canal du Midi, there are this kind of pale (correct me if I'am wrong ?).
I didn't succeed to find any information of their purpose (I googled a lot of "borne canal du midi" without success).

Dandelion Clock - Aigrettes du Pissenlit

My garden is full of dandelion - too hot and don't want to use too much water.
I can't stand up to shot a close-up of these delicate filaments.

Common reed - Roseau Commun

The "Canal du Midi" and my weekly ride is always a great source of pictures.

Empty lake

Typical french breakfast

Even if I have mess up the DP theme of August, I decide finally to post a Breakfast picture.
As you can see, it is really typical for France. It was early in the morning, we had drop off our daughter at the railway station. We had time to enjoy Toulouse in the morning. We stopped at Le Florida on the Place du Capitole and we order this delicious breakfast. This was a good starting point for the all day.

Parting of the waters

I'm just back from holidays.
It's good to return home and to see the "Canal du Midi" again.
This is the "Seuil de Naurouze" where the waters separate to Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean Sea.

Théatre National de Toulouse

We were early (8:00) at Toulouse to drop off our daughter at the railway station.
It was a sunny day ! and ... it was also the First Sales Day !

I had never look up on this building before.
Would you say sharp or peaked ?

As you'll see on the map, I shot it in Toulouse not in Baziège. There are no buildings like this in Baziège, only houses and two-storey buildings.

Wheatfield again ...

At this time it was not mature, but now it's ready and harvesters are going to start their job.

Garage sale and windmill

Montbrun-Lauragais where the garage sale took place is proud to get one of the last windmill (no more used) of the Lauragais aera.

Nouillorc, Nouillorc

There is an funny advertising campaign for the SNCF (French Railways).
They have shot false City roadsign with Frenchified city name as in this example : Nouillorc for New York.
What is very funny also is that the main city here is Toulouse and it's also a wordplay in English : to lose.
Edit 16/06/07 : in fact, SNCF (French Railways) has its own travel agency (flights, hotels, ...) called voyages sncf who launches this advertising campaign.

Chateau de Montmaur / Montmaur Castle

This castle was built during the 9th and 10th centuries.
It is part of the story of the Cathars which is still visible in our area.
